According to the Finnish Football Federation, UEFA will not conduct a formal inquiry into the alleged racial abuse of Glen Kamara.
An unknown Montenegro player is said to have targeted the Rangers midfielder with racial insults during Monday night’s Nations League game, according to a statement from the Finland FA. However, the player decided not to file an official complaint with UEFA.
No racial incident involving the match has been reported to UEFA, the governing body said in a statement, according to Sky Sports.
The Finnish FA released a statement that read: “Our team management and the players quickly shared their opinions on the occurrence of racism in the match against Montenegro with the match delegate and the UEFA-appointed referee after the match.
“The incident that had caused intense emotions after the game was calmed down when the referee and the match delegate informed the Finnish team management that the matter was known to them and taken into consideration.
“However, it has become evident from our contacts with UEFA on Tuesday that the match delegate’s report won’t ultimately result in an investigation.
“He declines to address the situation or make an official statement to UEFA.
“Therefore, the disciplinary investigation by UEFA is not triggered by the accusation of racism.”
After the Ondrej Kudela incident last year, Kamara said to Sky Sports News in March that he still gets racist comments on social media.
In the closing moments of Rangers’ Europa League game against Slavia Prague in March 2021, the Finland international alleged that Kudela had racially insulted him.
Kudela, who received a 10-game suspension from UEFA for “racist behavior,” has consistently refuted the accusations.
