More startling revelations are emerging as the trial of Benjamin Mendy continues at Chester Crown court. Another witness has narrated how she had an ugly and unsettling stint with the embattled Manchester City defender.
Benjamin Mendy has been standing trial before the Chester Crown court over allegations of sexual assault, attempted rape, and rape. So far, an array of witnesses have testified against the France international on what transpired between them and Mendy.
Narrating before the jury at Chester Court, an alleged victim told the court how she was shell-shocked when Mendy grabbed her groin at a party in his Cheshire mansion.
According to the alleged victim, on January 2nd, 2021, Mendy attempted to grab her between her legs while walking past her during the party at his residence. Moments after the alleged assault, Mendy had made a sexual gesture toward her, the woman told the court.
Mendy also made sexual advances towards the woman, cunningly complementing her looks to have a sexual favor – a move the woman disliked and rebuked him, asking him to tender an apology.
A live interview with the Police played in court laid bare the alleged excesses of Benjamin Mendy in her interaction with the woman.
She said: “He kind of grabbed my vagina suddenly to my shock. I just immediately stopped and asked, ‘what has just happened?’
“I was shocked and taken aback by his reaction before I could then realize what had just happened.”
After the incident, the woman said that she went to the bathroom with her friend to smoke but found out that the door was locked. Her friend immediately called for someone to open the door, and it was Mendy that showed up and opened the door.
The woman said she proceeded straight to the bathroom, and Mendy followed her. They both face each other when Mendy suddenly gestures for oral sex with her.
“I just turned around, and my friend came in and explained all that transpired to her, and she was shocked as she was”, she added. “I don’t understand how Mendy got there because we had a very minimal conversation.”
“He went ahead and gestured as if he was licking both of us, putting his tongue out; I was just confused.”
As she continued narrating, the court learned that the victim and her friend wanted to leave the party after the incident but decided to stay because they were intoxicated.
Mendy allegedly approached and followed up with the victim while heading toward the swimming pool, although she allegedly tried to keep her distance.
“He came right straight to my face and said, ‘you look good when you smile,’ the woman reported.
Mendy had asked the woman in the heat of the incident why she was angry, and she responded, ” because I don’t like the way you touch me.”
Mendy immediately apologized by bumping his fist into hers to appease her, but things had already gone sour.
Mendy is tried alongside Louis Saha Matturie, 41, who is said to be Mendy’s friend and accomplice. Matturie is standing trial for similar charges of rape, assault, and attempted rape.
The trial continues, and both can face prison sentences if convicted.
