    Trevoh Chalobah will remain a Chelsea player until June 30, 2026, based on the new contract he signed with the Premier League club.

    The former England youth international has been impressive since the commencement of the 2021-2022 season. In just 10 appearances this season, the promising center-back who can also play as a defensive midfielder has scored two goals for Chelsea.

    The most memorable goal Trevoh Chalobah has scored was the 58th-minute goal he scored against Crystal Palace on August 14, 2021. When Chalobah scored the goal at Stamford Bridge, he shed some tears because it was his first goal for his boyhood club.

    His promising performance in 10 games earned him a four-and-a-half-year deal with Chelsea.

    As stated earlier, the new contract Trevoh Chalobah signed with Chelsea will keep him at the club until June 30, 2026.

    Before he signed the four-and-a-half-year deal, his initial contract with the club was meant to expire on June 30, 2023. The contract was earning him £12,000 per week.

    However, it has been confirmed that Chelsea have increased Chalobah’s wages in the new contract but details of his new salary have not been made public as of the time of publishing this report.

    After he signed the new deal, Trevoh Chalobah said: “It’s quite surreal. It’s a dream for me to sign a new long-term contract for my boyhood club and hopefully, the dream continues.

    “It’s been an unbelievable start to the season and something I never expected but it just shows that the hard work I’ve put in and gone out on loans has paid off.

    “I tried to impress the manager in pre-season and then take that into the games so it’s been good and consistency now is the key to keep those high levels.”

    While Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: “To see Trevoh joining so many of his fellow Academy graduates in the men’s first team is something we are exceptionally proud of as a Club. When he scored in the first game of the Premier League season, it was an emotional moment for everyone involved in his progress to this point.

    “His performances in the early months of the season, as well as his attitude and professionalism, have impressed us all and we are very pleased to be able to reward Trevoh’s progress with this new long-term contract.”

    Trevoh Chalobah and his elder brother Nathaniel Chalobah (currently plays for Championship club Fulham) were born in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

    Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chalobah moved to London with the footballers when they were still children. According to reports, their mother died a few years ago which means that they are left with their father.

    When Trevoh was 8-year-old, he joined his elder brother at Chelsea academy. His elder brother joined Chelsea senior team in 2010 and stayed with the team for seven years, going from clubs to clubs on loan before he decided to join Watford in 2017 and then joined Fulham in 2021.

    As for Trevoh Chalobah, he gained promotion to Chelsea senior team on July 1, 2021, after he has spent some time on loan at Ipswich in 2018, Huddersfield in 2019, and FC Lorient in 2020.

    The 2021 UEFA Super Cup between Chelsea and Villarreal was Trevoh’s first game for the London-based club. Chelsea won the game via penalty shootout.

    The defender is expecting coach Gareth Southgate to invite him to the England national team since he has played for England at various youth levels from Under-16 to Under-21. He was part of the English team that won the European Under-19 Championship in 2017.
