Arsenal has contacted the French club side Stade Reims to register their interest for 22-year-old center back Axel Disasi. Reports revealed that the Gunners have been watching the young defender for a while now and they have decided to take things seriously in order to seal a deal.
Stade Reims is believed to have one of the best defense in Ligue 1 this season, they have only conceded 21 goals this season before football activities were put on hold due to the novel Covid-19. Meanwhile, Axel Disasi has been an integral part of the defense which has earned the French a top spot among clubs with the best defense.
Having seen the abilities of the young defender, there are quite a number of teams in Europe that are keen on getting his signature. Amongst teams that have shown interest in Disasi include West Ham, Southampton, and Monaco. There have been reports that some teams in the German are quite keen on signing the youngster.
However, Arsenal has gone beyond the rest of the teams competing to get the signature of Axel Disasi to officially inform the French club about their interest in the player. The Gunners are looking forward to strengthening the team under the watch of Mikel Arteta in the coming season.
Axel Disasi whose contract with the Stade Auguste-Delaune is expected to expire by the end of 2021 is most likely to make a transfer bid in the next summer transfer window.
Reims is expected to demand a transfer fee of about £13 million for the young defender. Disasi is one of the most wanted youngsters defenders in Europe with several top clubs looking forward to getting his signature.
There is no doubt that Arsenal will do more to ensure that they get a deal because center-back is one of the most important areas the English club is looking to work on in the next season.
