The 2021 summer transfer window will close at midnight, August 31, across major leagues in Europe and clubs are making last-minute moves to bring in new signings on transfer deadline day.
Below are the transfer deals that have been completed on transfer deadline day so far:
- Cristiano Ronaldo signs for Manchester United
The first transfer deal that was signed, sealed, and delivered on the transfer deadline day was that of Cristiano Ronaldo. The 5-time Ballon d’Or winner has signed a 2-year deal with Manchester United from Juventus. United paid Juventus €15 million for the services of the 36-year-old Portuguese football icon.
2. Emerson Royal joins Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of right-back Emerson Royal from Barcelona. The Premier League club offered him a five-year deal which will see him stay at the club until June 30, 2026.
3. Georgios Giakoumakis joins Celtic
Scottish club, Celtic have signed 26-year-old Greek striker, Georgios Giakoumakis from Dutch second division side VVV-Venlo in a deal worth up to £2.5m. The Greek striker signed a five-year deal which will keep him at Celtic until 2026.
4. Ademola Lookman joins Leicester City
Leicester City have signed 23-year-old Nigerian-born English winger Ademola Lookman on loan from RB Leipzig. The one-season loan deal comes with an option to buy.
5. Eduardo Camavinga joins Real Madrid
Real Madrid have signed 18-year-old French midfielder, Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes on a six-year deal. The Spanish club reportedly paid Rennes about €40 million to bring the French sensation to Spain.
6. Daniel James joins Leeds United
Leeds United have signed 23-year-old Welsh winger Daniel James on a permanent deal from Manchester United for £25m. Leeds offered him a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2026.
7. Marc Cucurella joins Brighton
Brighton have signed 23-year-old Spanish defender, Marc Cucurella from La Liga side Getafe on a five-year permanent contract which will see him remain at the club until 2026. Brighton signed after triggering his €18 million release clause.
