Toni Kroos’ Real Madrid future has been on the table with a few months left in his contract with the club.

The legendary German midfielder is among the vintage stars in the Real Madrid star-studded setup. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is assiduously overseeing a transition in the squad with the old stars set to give way for younger and fresher legs.

However, the club intend to balance youth with experience, hence the relevance of the likes of Toni Kroos, 34, cannot be overemphasized.

So far, the midfield sensation has gesticulated towards continuing with his top-level performance for Real Madrid despite reports he could return to Germany as he nears the twilights of his career.

His recent return to international football after hanging the boots in 2021 is an affirmation the footballing legend is not ready to call it quit soon and is ready to stay put with the elite squad at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti gave away the clues on Real Madrid’s position on Toni Kroos’ possible new deal when he said it is up to the player to decide his future.

Ancelotti’s statement came when Toni Kroos was yet to return to international football but there were feelers he is set to return. Ancelotti said his return would boost his chances of securing fresh terms with Real Madrid.

“Toni is a good player with the experience. It is up for him to decide and a return to international football will be a good signal,” Carlo Ancelotti said.
