Liverpool new signing, Thiago Alcantara has tested positive for COVID-19.
This was revealed by the club in a statement after the latest round of tests by the English Premier League. According to the club’s statement, he is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines.
Alcantara, who was not part of the squad that faced Arsenal yesternight exhibited minor symptoms of the virus. He s in good health and is getting better.
“The club has, and will continue to follow, all protocols relating to COVID-19 and Thiago will remain in self-isolation for the required period of time,” part of the club’s statement reads.
Speaking on the development, LFC first-team doctor, Dr Jim Moxon, said it is the choice of each individual to reveal publicly the outcome of a COVID-19 test.
“We have followed all the protocols to the letter and Thiago is OK. He will be self-isolating now as per the guidelines and hopefully, he’ll be back with us soon,” he added.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp had ruled him out of the Arsenal clash due to fitness issues. This could be because he tested positive to the dreaded virus and he wanted it to be private.
The manager before the Arsenal kickoff said Thiago is expected to come back ahead of the Merseyside derby in mid-October.
