For the second time in the history of the Premier League all the three clubs who gain promotion to the English top-flight will be relegated back to the second division.

Ahead of the final matchday, Burnley and Sheffield United have been confirmed relegated back to Championship.

Sheffield United sits bottom of the Premier League after the penultimate fixture with 16 points. The Blades have managed just 3 wins, 7 draws, and 27 defeats.

Vincent Kompany’s Burnley are also back to the second-tier. The Clarets were confirmed relegated following a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on matchday 36 clash.

Luton’s are also set to go down unless an extraordinary match outcome on the day of reckoning. The Hatters are third from bottom, three points away from Nottingham Forest, who are 17th on the table.

Luton’s chances of surviving the drop grew slimmer following their 3-1 loss to West Ham United. They oss saw the Hatters trail Nottingham Forest not only by a three-point but a gaping goal difference of 11.

Based in permutations, it could be concluded Luton are relegated to the second-tier unless they win by an outrageous margin against Fulham while Nottingham Forest lost by a huge margin against Burnley.

Teams Promoted to the Premier League

Leicester City are back to the English top-flight after relegation last season. The Foxes sealed promotion as 2023/24 Champions of the second-tier.

A sterling campaign saw the Foxes raked in 96 points to finish top of the table, a point behind Ipswich Town, who also earned automatic promotion slot after finishing as runners-up.

Ipswich returned to the English top-flight after 22 years following a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield, marking another big milestone in the club’s history.

The last slot in the race for promotion to the English top-flight will decided after the conclusion of the playoffs.

Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion, Southampton, and Leeds United qualified for the playoffs.

With the first round of matches rounded up, Norwich and Westbromwich have been knocked out of the mini-competition with Southampton and Leeds United qualifying for the final.

Either of the two teams will join Leicester back to the Premier League a season after being relegated.
