Takumi Minamino is set to join AS Monaco as the Ligue 1 side and Liverpool have agreed on a deal for the Japanese international worth 18 million euros (£15.5 million).
The Ligue 1 team was one of several clubs interested in the 27-year-old, who joined the Reds from Red Bull Salzburg in 2020 for £7.25 million.
The agreement for Minamino is worth a fixed 15 million euros (£12.9 million) plus 3 million euros (£2.6 million) in add-ons.
He scored 14 goals in 55 appearances for the Reds last season and was their leading scorer in domestic cup tournaments.
Minamino’s seven goals helped Jurgen Klopp’s team win the FA Cup and League Cup.
However, he only made 11 Premier League appearances, including one start, as Liverpool ended the season a point behind Manchester City.
Minamino also went on loan to Southampton in February 2021, making 10 appearances before returning to Liverpool for the 2021-22 season.
Sadio Mane, Senegal forward, is also on the verge of leaving Liverpool after the Merseyside club reached a £35.1m agreement with German club Bayern Munich, which includes a set £27.4m cost for the 30-year-old.
The probable sales come after the signing of Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica for an initial fee of £64 million.
Liverpool have also signed Fulham forward Fabio Carvalho for £5 million and Aberdeen 18-year-old full-back, Calvin Ramsay, for £4.2 million, with both deals potentially growing with add-ons.
