Sergio Ramos was seen presenting the Latin Grammy Award to pop star Shakira, who is the ex-girlfriend of the defender’s former Spain team-mate Gerard Pique.
Sergio Ramos, who currently plays for Sevilla in Spain, was seen with his arms around pop star Shakira, who is the ex-partner of his former Spain team-mate Gerard Pique.
Despite the number of years they spent together, Gerard Pique moved on immediately with Clara Chia Marti, whom Shakira revealed he cheated on her with.
Shakira recently opened up in her interview with Billboard stating that she is still battling with the breakup trauma and experiencing different stages of grief.
Though they were teammates at Spain, Sergio Ramos and Pique were rivals at club level as they played for Real Madrid and Barcelona – the biggest club rivals in the La Liga – respectively.
Nonetheless, the duo started both major tournaments together in defense as they helped Spain win the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 Euros as a center-back pair.
Sevilla defender Ramos was also in charge of awarding trophies at the Latin Grammy Awards, which were held in Seville on Thursday, 16th November 2023.
Shakira, however, stole the show as she bagged three awards and Pique’s former team-mate presented his ex-partner with two of the honors – Best Pop Song and Best Urban Interpretation.
As seen in the image above, Sergio Ramos was captured posing with Shakira and also had his arm around her shoulders after he presented her with the two Grammys.
Speaking after receiving the award, she said: “I also want to share this (awards) with my Spanish public. You have been there accompanying me through the good and the bad, in difficult moments.”
