Senegal national football team manager, Aliou Cisse has revealed that he wants his team captain and Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane to join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich this summer.
According to Cisse, Bayern Munich will be the best club for Mane to join. The Liverpool forward has rejected a contract renewal and wants to leave with one year on his current contract with the Premier League side.
Mane revealed that he’s only interested in leaving Liverpool and won’t stay for another season. Currently, Bayern Munich are the only side pushing hard to sign the Senegalese striker.
On the other hand, Liverpool have rejected two offers from Bayern Munich and wants a higher bid. The German champions are still in talks with Mane and Liverpool reps as they look to complete the deal before next season.
The deal is likely to be accepted as Liverpool has landed their main transfer target Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a record fee of €100 million. Darwin Nunez is believed to be the replacement for Sadio Mane in anticipation of his exit.
While speaking about Sadio Mane’s future, Aliou Cisse revealed that Mane would fare better in Germany and encouraged him to leave the six times Champions League winners.
He added that Mane has already played in Austria and moving to Germany won’t be a problem because Austria is a border country.
“It’s not just Sadio, I’m going to talk about it for all those players who are in a situation where they have to find a club, it’s complicated”, the coach said.
“Why? Because it is all this problem that awaits us for the World Cup which is in November.
“And I tell my boys to try to settle the contract problems so that when their respective championships resume, they will have already found a base.
“I heard about Sadio at Bayern. Bayern is intensity, pressure football with a German coach. Sadio played in Salzburg in Austria which is a border country, and that means he is not going into unknown territory. For me, the club where he will feel the best is Bayern.”
Meanwhile, Sadio Mane would also be a replacement for Robert Lewandowski if the Poland captain finally leaves Bayern Munich in the summer.
Lewandowski has revealed that his time in Bundesliga is over and wants to leave the German champions. He added that something has died in him.
As it stands, Barcelona are the current club in pole position to sign Robert Lewandowski although several clubs in Europe are also interested in him.
