Ajax striker, Sebastien Haller, has confirmed that he would not follow the current coach of the club, Erik ten Hag to Manchester United at the end of the 2021-2022 season.

Recall that Erik ten Hag has signed three years deal with Manchester United with an option for further extension. The Dutch tactician will resume his managerial role at Old Trafford at the end of the 2021-2022 season.

Since Manchester United confirmed the appointment of the Dutch tactician, there have been a series of Speculations suggesting that Ten Hag intends to bring some Ajax players to the Premier League club.

Sebastien Haller who has been arguably the best player at Ajax in terms of goals scored is also one of the players who might follow Erik Ten Hag to Manchester United according to reports in the Netherlands.

Contrary to such reports, the 27-year-old Ivorian striker told Dutch publication NOS that he would not follow Ten Hag to Manchester United. He however added that a couple of clubs have shown interest in him.

“Of course, there is interest from clubs. But I always say: interest is something different than an offer and a transfer is something else,” Sebastien Haller said.

When the interviewer pressed harder, Sebastien Haller added: “No I won’t follow him. I feel good here at the club and in the city.”

Sebastien Haller is not new when it comes to Premier League football. Recall that the Ivory Coast striker joined a Premier League club, West Ham United from Eintracht Frankfurt on July 17, 2019, for a transfer fee worth €50 million.

He spent almost two seasons at the club but could not adapt to Premier League football as effectively as expected. West Ham United was forced to sell him to Ajax for a transfer fee worth €22.50 million after scoring just 14 goals and providing three assists in 54 games for the London side.

Hence, he was deemed a failure in the Premier League when the number of games he played for West Ham United are compared to the number of goals he scored as a striker who cost the club a €50 million transfer fee.

However, when he arrived at Ajax, coach Erik ten Hag was able to work on the Ivorian striker so well that he became one of the most prolific strikers in the Dutch league. Between 2019 and 2022, Sebastien Haller scored 46 goals and provided 16 assists in 64 games for the Dutch club.

The 2021-2022 season has been the best season for the Ivorian player. So far in the season, Haller has scored 33 goals and provided 9 assists in 41 games. He contributed 27 goals in the league this season out of the 91 goals the club recorded in 32 games.

Sebastien Haller’s effort plays a vital role in Ajax’s current push to win the league title. Ajax are currently topping the league table with 79 points in 32 games.

Sebastien Haller currently earns £64,000 per week which amounts to £3,328,000 per year at the Dutch club. His earnings at the club and from previous clubs have earned him a net worth of £13,488,800.

Haller’s contract with Ajax will expire on June 30, 2025. Despite that, a lot of top clubs in Europe have shown interest in him. His transfer market value is said to be €30 million.
