Saudi Arabia have reportedly twisted marriage laws to allow football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez to live together.

Cristiano Ronaldo signed a mega and controversial contract with Al-Nassr after his longing for a return to Champions League football in Europe suffered a heavy setback.

After Manchester United finished 6th on the Premier League table last season, Cristiano Ronaldo asked to leave the club as he wanted to play Champions League football.

No European club made offers for him, and he had to later settle for Europa League football with Manchester United. However, his second season in his return to Old Trafford turned disastrous.

New Manchester United Erik Ten Hag reduced him to cameo appearances off the bench in most games, resulting in frequent on-pitch and off-pitch collisions.

Cutting a frustrated figure in the Man United bench, Ronaldo finally poured his mind in a controversial interview blasting the dilapidated and deplorable state of things at Manchester United.

He blasted the club for betraying him and aimed digs at Erik Ten Hag for disrespecting him. After the interview, his Manchester United contract was terminated, and he ended up being a free agent with 7 months remaining at his Old Trafford club.

After the fallout with the Red Devils, Cristiano Ronaldo was still intent on returning to Champions League football and was awaiting offers from a European club.

Meanwhile, Saudi club Al-Nassr submitted a mega offer for the Portuguese star, and Ronaldo finally gave in after he had no Champions League club making an offer for him.

Technically, Ronaldo was set to come across three hindrances to his Al-Nassr move. First, his signing means Al-Nassr now surpass the number of foreign players on their list as stipulated by the Saudi Pro League.

Also, he had to serve a two-match ban which he picked up while in the Premier League following his assault of a young Everton fan in 2021.

Another hurdle he had to cross was Saudi marriage laws which fume at cohabitation – the practice of unmarried partners living together as husband and wife.

In Saudi Arabia, partners are not expected to live together as husband and wife if they are not legally married. Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez are not officially married.

After the Portuguese football legend signed the Al-Nassr deal, he traveled with his family to Saudi Arabia where he was unveiled at the Mrsool Park Stadium to a thousand of Al-Nassr supporters.

According to reports, Saudi Arabia knows the overarching impact of Cristiano Ronaldo on Saudi Arabian football and entire Saudi Arabia as a whole. They have reportedly relaxed stringent and regimented marriage rules governing romantic relationships to allow Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez to live together.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have been dating since 2017, but are yet to tie the knot. Ronaldo announced the arrival of his newborn from Georgina Rodriguez on November 12, 2017.
