Out-of-favor Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane is in talks for a move to Saudi Arabia as he closes in on Bayern Munich exit this summer.

Bayern Munich are ready to offload the Senegal international after a disappointing debut season with the club.

After an elite level performance with Liverpool in the Premier League, Sadio Mane orchestrated his Anfield exit after helping the team reach their second Champions League final.

According to reports, the African Footballer of the Year, who enjoyed a largely successful career with Liverpool, pushed for an exit from the club due to his meager weekly wage. He joined Bayern Munich for £35m with the hope that he could fill the void left by Robert Lewandwoski.

Sadly, Mane’s Bayern Munich spell has turned a nightmare. Under ex-manager, Julian Nagelsmann, Sadio Mane cut a frustrated figure on the Bavarians’ bench as he struggles to break into the team’s lineup.

His nightmare debut with the Bundesliga giants was compounded when he suffered a harmstring injury that ruled him out of the 2022 World Cup.

After the World Cup, Mane was back to Bayern Munich training but was still grappling for a first team place. Under Bayern Munich new manager, Thomas Tuchel, Sadio Mane is still out of favor. Tuchel have disclosed he intends not to draft the Senegalese into his squad plans next season and is open to letting him leave this summer. In 25 Bundesliga appearances, Mane has managed 7 goals.

His representatives have reportedly held talks with Al Nassr in Portugal for a possible move this summer with the Senegalese eager to seal a deal with the Saudi giants.

Mane could become the second big-name player to join Al Nassr this summer after the club secured the services of Inter Milan top midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

However, the move may not materialize due to FIFA sanctions banning Al Nassr from signing more players this summer after they failed to pay Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa his wages.

Al Nassr were able to complete a move for Marcelo Brozovic before they were hit with FIFA sanction. It is understood the club would like to snap other top players in Europe this summer, including David De Gea save the FIFA sanction barring them from the transfer market.

However, according to L’Equipe, Sadio Mane’s Al Nassr move could just be a matter of time as the Senegal international has reached an agreement with Al Nassr to join the club pending when they will sort out their faceoff with FIFA.

The move will see the former Liverpool star make the list of high-profile footballers from European leagues that have been poached into Saudi Pro League this summer.

Mane has two years remaining in his Bayern Munich contract but will be allowed to leave. Despite a subpar debut campaign with the Bavarians, Mane has recorded at least a goal in all competitions for Bayern Munich. He has a goal in his single appearance in DFL-Super Cup, a goal in 3 appearances in DFB-Pokal, 3 goals in 9 Champions League appearances, and 7 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances.
