While the bust-up must have sprung up from a sublime on-field faceoff during the Champions League clash against Manchester City, it could also be seen as an outpour of bottled-up emotions from his frustrating experience at Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich signed Mane from Liverpool for £27 and were expecting the Senegal international to step into the shoes of Robert Lewandwoski who was on the exit lane to Barcelona.

Since arriving the club, it has been a sad tale for the Former Liverpool forward.

Sadio Mane has made 20 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich, managing just six goals, with four assists.

Sadio watched the 2022 World Cup from injury bed, spending months on the sidelines and has struggled to find his form after returning from the injury blow.

The emergence of Thomas Tuchel as Bayern Munich manager was expected to herald a new start for Mane to rediscover his form but it appears the status quo is not changing sooner.

He is yet to start a game under Thomas Tuchel and has been reduced to cameo appearances off the bench in major games as was the case under Julian Nagelsmann.

The dressing room bust-up between him and Leroy Sane seems to have compounded his woes at Bayern Munich.

He has been fined and axed off the club’s Bundesliga clash against Hoffenheim but will be available against City in the Champions League.

Before joining Bayern Munich, Sadio Mane nudged in 16 Premier League goals and 5 Champions League goals for Liverpool while his predecessor Robert Lewandwoski had 35 Bundesliga goals in 34 games and 13 Champions League goals in 10 games for Bayern before joining Barcelona.

Sadio Mane has obviously fallen below expectations with the current campaign almost gone.

He will hope to rediscover his goal-scoring streak as he enters the second year of his three-year contract with Bayern Munich next season.
