    After another successive Serie A season with Juventus, star player, Cristiano Ronaldo has shown that he is not ready to stop being in top form despite being 35 years.

    In a season that Juventus landed their ninth consecutive title, Inter Milan finished behind the winners and followed by impressive Atalanta and Lazio.

    GK: Wojciech Szczesny (Juventus)

    Szczesny has shown again why he is a reliable hand with his exemplary performance in Juve’s Scudetto-winning campaign.

    The 30-year-old goalkeeper has proven that he is capable of filling into the shoes of Gigi Buffon and established himself as one of the best in the world in his own right.

    Although not the most successful season for Juventus defense of their eight Scudetto, during the times that the Old Lady’s defense was under more pressure, he came to their rescue with his top-class saves to show how valuable he is.

    The Polish who faced stiff competition for this spot in our Serie A XI with the likes of Juan Musso and Samir Handanovic, was a top performer for the champions this season.

    RB: Hans Hateboer (Atalanta)

    Hateboer was one of the top performer for the impressive Atalanta side that showed that their qualification for the first Champions League last season was not a fluke.

    The talented 26-year-old right back showed how devastating, dangerous, he could be to Serie A strikers and defense this season to be one of the standout players for Bergamo club.

    One of the high poi9nt of his 2019 season was during the demolition of Valencia in the Champions League, when he scored a brace.

    The dutchman beat Juventus utility player, Juan Cudrado in the list, showing he has his best years ahead of him. This caught the attention of many elite teams in Europe.

    Centre-back: Francesco Acerbi (Lazio)

    Although Lazio faltered when it mattered most in the season having chased Juventus for the most part of the season, but Francesco Acerbi deserves his place in the Serie A team of the season.

    The centre back who missed just two Serie A games is one of the lads that deserved to be commended for helping Simone Inzaghi’s side back to Champiuons League football.

    The defender who scored two goals in the just concluded season and provided two assists. He is top rated in the league because he won 1.6 aerial duels and 1.2 interceptions per game. This reinforced his strengths of ‘aerial duels’ and ‘ball interception’ prowress.

    Centre-back: Chris Smalling (Roma)

    Englishman, Chris Smalling partnered Acerbi in the centre of the defense to become an all-Rome centre-back partnership.

    The on-loan defender had n impressive debut season in Italy, which saw him scored three times and provided two assists for Paulo Fonseca’s sid following his arrival from Manchester United.

    He nailed his place in the Serie A team with his dominant aerial performance, which he was the second-highest winner in the league while Bologna’s Mattia Bani (3.9) won more aerial duels per game than him (3.2).

    Left-back: Theo Hernandez (AC Milan)

    Apart from the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic into the dressing room at Milan, French defender, Theo Hernandez can’t be left out of this team due to his impressive performance that saw AC Milan returning to Europe after some time.

    He proved to be a top signing and had an impressive debut campaign in Italy. Hernandez since his arrival made the left-back his own for AC Milan and excelled as he scored six goals for the Rossoneri after pressing forward excellently and provided three assists in the process. This show his return to be 1.6 shots and 1.3 key passes per game.

    Right midfield: Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo)

    After surviving several injuries, Domenico Berardi returned to the field to enjoy his most prolific Serie A campaign since 2014/15, scoring 14 goals and creating 10 assists for Sassuolo.

    Domenico Berardi has contributed to 117 goals in 207 Serie A games.

    With his goals and assist being the third best in Serie A in 2019/20, Berardi deserves a place in the Serie A team. The 26-year-old finished the season behind Luis Alberto, who has (16) made more accurate through balls than him (8).

    Central midfield: Luis Alberto (Lazio)

    The 27-year-old was the creative spark in Lazio’s midfield and again proved to be exceptional pulling the strings for the Rome giants.

    Finishing first for accurate through balls (16), key passes (106) and clear-cut chances created (21) in Italy’s top tier this term, , Luis Alberto is behind Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez (16), who registered more assists than him (15).

    Apart from his creativity, he also forged a fine attacking partnership with the golden ball winner, Ciro Immobile.

    Central midfield: Alejandro Gomez (Atalanta)

    If anyone wants to mention Atalanta’s player of the season, it should go to the captain, Papu Gomez as he is fondly called.

    Gomez was invloved in the Atalanta scored the highest goals (98) in the Serie A this season, out of which the Argentine assisted 16.

    The diminutive Argentine (102) is behind Luis Alberto (106) in key passes, but he scored additional seven goals to be part of the Serie A team alongside Alberto in the middle of the park.

    Left forward: Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus)

    The record breaking Ronaldo won our player of the season for his impressive effort in an unimpressive Juventus that won the Serie A.

    Although he lost the Capocannoniere to Ciro Imobille, after being five goals behind the Italian, but Portuguese talisman should be delighted in the 31 league goals he scored to create a record of half century of goals in the Premier League , Spanish La Liga and finally Italian Serie A.

    To show he is in a sensational form, Ronaldo scored from more clear-cut goalscoring opportunities (23) than any other Serie A player.

    The 35-year-old, who also recorded an additional five assists to his tally is a deserving winner of the futballnews player of 2019/20 honour.

    Centre forward: Ciro Immobile (Lazio)

    Ciro Immobile, who went home with the golden boot after matching Gonzalo Higuain’s Serie A record of 36 league goals in a season on the final day of the campaign scored more goals than relegated pair SPAL (27) and Brescia (35).

    Apartfrom his goals tally,m he created an additional nine assists, which made him to be involved in at least nine more league goals (45) than any other player in Italy’s top tier this term.

    Right forward: Josip Ilicic (Atalanta)

    Josip Ilicic enjoyed a stellar season under impressive Atalanta with his best game coming up against Valencia whom he scored four goals against in a game.

    He showed that he is not done performing on the pitch despite his marital problem helping the Bergamo club to wins against AC Milan, Lecce, Parma and Torino.
