Legendary footballer, Pele has shared his opinion on who is better between Lionel Messi of Argentina and Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal. Over the years, there has been an unending debate of who is better between the two footballers. While some threw their weight solidly behind Lionel Messi for being an exceptional player, others showed their interest in Cristiano Ronaldo for his consistency and hard work.

The world of football has never experienced a competition has fierce as this one. Even the competition between Diego Maradona and Pele is not as serious as this one, neither is it as long as this. This is the first time there will be a great competition between two players for more than eleven years. What baffle most football critics is the consistency between these two players, despite the fact that they are heading to the end of their career, they have not released their crowns as the king of the pitch.

Lionel Messi has won a couple of trophy for Barcelona, most importantly the Champions League. He has won it with Barcelona four times, also the La Liga cup. Also, Cristiano Ronaldo won the Champions League four times with Real Madrid, needless to say, that he won his first Champions League with Manchester United in 2008. Many football analysts believed that Cristiano Ronaldo prides himself ahead of Lionel Messi for winning the Champions League with another team aside Real Madrid.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have both shared the Balon d’Or for about eleven times. Messi picked the golden boot in December to edge himself ahead of Ronaldo with 6 Balon d’Or wins.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s consistency puts him ahead of Lionel Messi as the world’s best player, according to Pele, but he doesn’t believe that either man is as good as he was in his prime.

Brazilian legendary footballer, Pele has given his verdict on who is best between Messi and Ronaldo. The three-times world cup winner believes Cristiano Ronaldo’s consistency put him ahead of Messi. In his words during a chat, he said: Right now I think Cristiano Ronaldo is the most consistent player out there, but you can’t forget about Messi,”

The 79-year-old when asked who was better between himself and Ronaldo and Messi, he stated equivocally that there will be only one Pele. “It’s not my fault, but I think I was better than all of them. There will only be one Pele. There won’t be anyone else like me.”
