Romelu Lukaku has returned to Chelsea football club for a club-record transfer fee of £97.5 million without being in a known relationship at 28-year-old.

Before he signed his five-year deal with Chelsea which would keep him at the club until June 30, 26, Lukaku was trying to cope with his broken relationship with Sarah Mens.

Reports claimed that Lukaku who joined Chelsea from Inter Milan broke up with Sarah Mens earlier in 2021 for no known reason. Yet, the broken relationship did not affect his performance on the pitch as he went on to help Inter Milan to win the Italian Serie A title that same year.

Since their break up, Romelu Lukaku and Sarah Mens have not made any public statement concerning the broken relationship.

Also, since then, Romelu Lukaku has not been known or seen with another lady which could mean that he is currently single. Two Reasons why Chelsea signed Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku was rejected at Chelsea after spending three years of his career at the Premier League club (2011-2014). He was dimmed not to be good enough even though Chelsea paid Belgian club, Anderlecht, €15 million to bring him to the Premier League.

After about 7 years outside the club, Chelsea decided to bring him back to the club for the club record transfer fee of £97.5 million. He signed a five-year deal with the London-based club.

One of the reasons Chelsea paid such a huge sum of money to bring the 28-year-old Belgian striker to the club is because of his consistency when it comes to scoring goals.

For instance, since the 2012-2013 season, Lukaku is one of the six players in Europe that scored 10 or more league goals. Others are Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Luis Suarez, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Secondly, Romelu Lukaku is a consistent assists provider which means that the more he scores goals, the more he helps his teammates to score great goals.

For instance, in the 2020-2021 season, the Belgium international was among three European players that scored 20 or more goals and provided 10 or more assists. The other two players in this category are Kane and Memphis Depay.
