Manchester City and Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez got himself into an interactive session with his fans on Twitter after he posted a picture that showed his cracked iPhone.
The Algerian joked that he couldn’t repair his phone when some fans noticed the crack at the back of the phone. According to Mahrez, he was waiting to sign his new contract so that he can get money to repair it.
The 31-year-old extended his contract with Man City until 2025 as he entered the final year of his current contract this month.
After signing the new contract, the Algerian star player traveled with Pep Guardiola’s teams to the United States of America on Saturday morning to begin the pre-season tour.
However, he posted a picture of himself getting on the plane and his followers were quick to spot the crack on the phone he was holding.
‘Mahrez you have the money,’ one follower commented, as others were surprised to see that an English Premier League footballer is using a cracked iPhone. But he replied to them by saying: ‘Was waiting for the new contract.’
