Richarlison, Tottenham Hotspur forward has denied reports regarding his part in Antonio Conte’s dismissal from the club, insisting he was not the ‘mutiny’ leader.

Former Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte left the club by mutual consent on Sunday, 26th of March, 2023, a week after his extraordinary rant in which he criticizes the players and the club’s board.

The Italian manager called the players “selfish” and said they didn’t want to play.

This came after Tottenham blew away their 3-1 lead against Southampton and ended up with a 3-3 score in the English Premier League a week before the International break.

According to prominent Argentine reporter Gaston Edul, who is well-liked by footballers in Argentina and the rest of South America, Richarlison and teammate Cristian Romero allegedly presented an ultimatum to the club after reading the comments regarding the team.

Richarlison who was injured during the dramatic clash at St. Mary’s was later accused by a reporter of giving a demand to Tottenham over Conte’s future, but the Brazilian striker rejected those allegations on Thursday, 31st of March, 2023.

Richarlison said; “Questioning and Criticising me as a player for my performance is part of football and I got it”

“However, telling lies about me, I don’t accept that, I’ve always had a lot of respect for Conte and my coaches, he helped me a lot in my transfer to Spurs, and whenever we had a problem (even in public) we solve it based on conversation and professionalism, and this can be confirmed”.

“I wasn’t a mutiny leader against him, it was quite the opposite”.

Brazilian forward Richarlison, who signed a five-year contract with Tottenham, has scored twice in 27 appearances, both times in the Champions League.

He criticized Conte for not playing him earlier this month after coming off the bench in Spurs’ last-16 Champions League elimination to AC Milan.
