Atlético Madrid defender Reinildo Mandava picked up an injury in the encounter against Real Madrid and he has been ruled out for the rest of the 2022/23 season as a result of the injury.

Reinildo has earned himself a first choice spot at left back this season under their Argentine manager Diego Simone.
However, Los Colchoneros would be without his services for the remaining matches this season in addition to even many matches next season following a strong knee injury.
The 29-year-old was taken off on a stretcher in the first-half of Atletico Madrid’s share of the spoils with Real Madrid as he was wriggling in pain after he collided with Fede Valverde with instant concerns over his injury during the encounter.
Diego Simone’s side following checks done have established a cruciate ligament injury and his unavailability will now continue until possibly the end of the 2022/23 footballing season.

Atletico Madrid have not revealed the time he would return but this type of injury in many times includes a minimum unavailability of nine months which could see Reinildo be in the treatment room until next year.
Reinildo was born in Beira and he began his professional football career with Ferroviário da Beira and GD Maputo.
In December 2015, he penned a deal with Portuguese side Benfica and was sent to their reserve team.
Reinildo was loaned out in the summer of 2017 to Sporting da Covilhã in LigaPro for the duration of one season.
In 2018, he signed for Belenenses SAD, and in January 2019, he joined French club Lille on loan with a €3 million option to sign the player at the end of the campaign.
After the season ended in May, it was established that the French side had completed the signing of the Mozambican international.
Atlético Madrid announced their acquisition of Reinildo on a three-and-a-half-year deal in the winter transfer window of 2022.

Reinildo Mandava made his first appearance for The Mambas of Mozambique in 2014 and afterwards he has gone on to make eleven appearances in total.
Since he signed for Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2022, he has made fifty-four (54) appearances for Los Colchoneros.
In the 2022/23 season, he has made twenty-two (22) appearances for Spain and he has scored no goal and made no assist.
His primary position is being a left back but he can also function as a center back when need be.
Reinildo Mandava has excellent tackling skills and he also shields the ball wonderfully well.
One other great trait of the Mozambican is his remarkable ball interception ability, Reinildo is an annoying and great rattler in a nice way as he does his job diligently.
