Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is attempting to persuade the 23-year-old forward to join the club on a free transfer, but the forward has stated that his future is still uncertain.
Mbappe was the difference for PSG against Real Madrid on Tuesday night, scoring a late winner as they seized a 1-0 lead in their Champions League knockout clash with the LaLiga leaders, however he claims to be focused on his current club for the time being.
Despite having stated publicly that he wanted to leave to join Real Madrid last summer, Mbappe is said to be drawn to Liverpool’s vision, tempted by the possibility to build an era-defining club capable of winning multiple major tournaments rather than being the primary component in a rebuild.
According to the source, PSG is also preparing an expensive offer to persuade their star player to stay at the Parc des Princes, but it’s looking like a long shot to keep Mbappe in Paris with so many top teams circling for his signing.
According to El Mundo, France President Emmanuel Macron has encouraged Kylian Mbappe to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Macron and former French President Nicolas Sarkozy have both attempted to persuade the PSG superstar to extend his current contract, which expires this summer, as Real Madrid and Liverpool are vying for his signature.
Mbappe stated after his team’s 1-0 win against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday that he had not made a choice about his future, while Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti praised the 23-year-old as “the best player currently in Europe.”
PSG turned down a €200 million bid from Real Madrid last summer and are failed to reach an agreement on a new contract.
Mbappe has been at PSG since 2017, when he moved from Monaco for €180 million, and has scored 154 goals in 203 games.
PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund attacker Erling Haaland are both expected to join Real Madrid this summer, according to LaLiga president Javier Tebas.
Mbappe, 23, will be available a free transfer in the next transfer window, while Haaland’s €75 million release clause will be activated this season as well.
“Madrid will get Mbappe and Haaland and the others [Barcelona and Juventus] are half [financially] ruined,” he said in quotes reported by Europa Press. “That Mbappe comes is great news for LaLiga.”
Madrid Submits Final offer for Haaland
According to rumours, Real Madrid has made a final offer to Erling Haaland’s entourage in their pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund star. The La Liga giants’ interest in Kylian Mbappe is well established.
Despite the fact that a deal for the France international is far from certain, club president Florentino Perez has decided to take action.
Karim Benzema has continued to impress for Real Madrid this season, scoring 22 goals in the Champions League and La Liga combined. However, as the veteran nears the end of his career, Los Blancos are seeking for long-term alternatives.
It’s no secret that Madrid wants to sign Mbappe, who scored the game-winning goal for Paris Saint-Germain against them in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
They are, however, in the running for Haaland as Perez designs yet another Galactico period.
