Real Madrid stars Vinicius Junior and Sergio Ramos have reached out to Nacho Fernandez with heartfelt best wishes after announcing his exit from the club.
After an incredible 23 years at Santiago Bernabeu, Nacho announced his decision to depart Real Madrid on Tuesday, June 25.
The 34-year-old Spanish veteran defender first joined the club’s youth academy at just 10 years old and has had a successful career with Los Blancos.
Meanwhile, in 2023, Nacho Fernandez initially planned to leave but ended up staying with the club.
This time around, the timing seems right for his departure, especially after a season laced with Champions League and La Liga double.
In response to Nacho’s exit, the Brazilian star Vinicius took to his Instagram page to express his respect and admiration for his former captain.
Vini insisted that Nacho Fernandez is more ‘Madridista’ than anyone he has ever had the opportunity to meet.
The Brazilian sensation wrote: “Nacheteeee, mi Capitan!!! It’s been a pleasure to play with you all these years.”
“You’re more Madridista than anyone I’ve ever seen. Thanks for everything! You are an amazing person who deserves everything you have earned and so much more! I wish you all the best in your new stage! LEADER and EXAMPLE.”
Sergio Ramos bid Nacho Fernandez farewell
Real Madrid legendary defender, Sergio Ramos also paid tribute to Nacho Fernandez following his exit from Los Blancos.
Sergio Ramos, a fellow countryman of Nacho, shared his happiness for the departing Real Madrid captain as he fondly remembered their time on the field and celebrated the many triumphs they achieved together.
Ramos posted a picture of himself with Nacho on his Instagram story with the caption:
“Dear Nacho, you are leaving, but you will always be a part of @realmadrid. history. Congratulations on a brilliant run. It was a pleasure to share the dressing room for so many years and live together so many successes and unrepeatable moments.”
“Also happy to see you as captain raise the ear. A huge hug, brother. Always on my team!”
Real Madrid also bid farewell to veteran defender Nacho Fernandez, who leaves the club on a high note after securing a Champions League and La Liga double.
Nacho Fernandez’s stint and achievements
Nacho Fernandez joined Real Madrid’s youth academy in 2001 when he was 10 years old.
Over his 23 years at Madrid, Nacho played 364 matches and won an impressive 26 titles, including 6 Champions Leagues, 5 Club World Cups, and 4 La Liga titles.
In addition to his club success, Nacho also found glory with the Spanish national team, winning the U-21 European Championship and the Nations League.
Currently competing in the 2024 Euro Cup in Germany, Nacho leaves Real Madrid as a true legend, having captained the team to victory at Wembley and being one of only five players in the history of football to win 6 Champions Leagues.

At first, Nacho Fernandez had a strong desire to relocate to the USA, but ultimately, the tempting offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah proved to be too lucrative for him to reject.
As it stands, he is set to pocket a reported €20m throughout a two-year contract following his potential move to Saudi Arabia.
