Raheem Sterling and Manchester City are expected to begin contract discussions, according to ESPN sources.
There is no definite timetable for negotiations to begin, but sources tell ESPN that City are eager to address the matter before Sterling’s current contract expires in June.
Sterling’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2023, and negotiations about extending it were put on hold while the 27-year-old made sure he was in Pep Guardiola’s long-term plans.

However, Barcelona, PSG, and Real Madrid are all interested in bringing Sterling to their clubs this summer or in 2023, and Sterling is open to playing overseas before the conclusion of his career.
Sterling’s contract is up in 18 months, but both the player and the club are claimed to be “relaxed” about the situation.
Sterling scored 14 goals in 49 games in season after scoring 79 goals in three seasons between 2017 and 2020.
He has scored eight goals since regaining his starting spot in November to re-establish himself as a crucial player for Guardiola.
