More dramatic episodes are expected in the coming days as Kylian Mbappe and PSG contract standoff enters a new phase.

Kylian Mbappe is ready to enter the final year of his three years contract with PSG and has informed the club he will not renew his deal or trigger the one-year extension clause.

Meanwhile, all hopes of an amicable solution to the building tensions between both parties has now gone. PSG had until July 31, 2021 to trigger the extension clause on Mbappe’s contract.

With the deadline passed, there are no reconciliation points between both parties. Only two options for PSG – either they sell Kylian Mbappe or have him run out his contract and leave on a free transfer next summer.

According to L’Equipe, PSG are hoping to entertain bids from interested parties with Premier League side Chelsea leading the list of suitors ready to table an offer for Mbappe.

Also, the Telegraph reports PSG are ready to escalate tensions with Real Madrid for their role in the contract deadlock with Kylian Mbappe.

PSG officials believe Real Madrid have contacted Mbappe without their permission and have agreed a secret deal to sign him as a free agent next summer.

The move could see Real Madrid penalized by FIFA if they allegations are proven.

Another sensational report from L’Equipe says Real Madrid are making out time to also table an offer for Mbappe but will wait till the last hours of the transfer window to force PSG to buck down on their asking price for the player.
