- Neymar makes more money than Lionel Messi
PSG players are the highest-paid as teammates Neymar and Lionel Messi are at the top of the list of highest-earning Ligue 1 players.
Since Qatar Sports Investments’ successful takeover of Parc des Princes in 2011, Paris Saint Germain has become one of the wealthiest clubs in the world of football.
Over the previous decade, marquee signings have become commonplace, and L’Equipe says that the squad is now worth €629 million (£525 million/$692 million) after the arrival of numerous more renowned names last summer, including Messi.

Messi, who joined Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer after leaving Barcelona at the end of the 2020-21 season, is in second place with €3.3 million, more than €1 million ahead of Kylian Mbappe in third.
Fourth and fifth place go to Marquinhos and Marco Verratti, with Achraf Hakimi, Keylor Navas, Angel Di Maria, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Gianluigi Donnarumma rounding out the top ten.

Is there anyone else on the list?
Wissam Ben Yedder of Monaco with Mauro Icardi, Sergio Ramos, Leandro Paredes, and Juan Bernat are the first non-Paris Saint Germain players on the list in position 15 and Mauro Icardi, Sergio Ramos, Leandro Paredes, and Juan Bernat in positions 11-14.
Ramos also joined Paris Saint Germain last summer after his Real Madrid contract expired, but his monthly salary as the 12th highest-paid player at Parc des Princes is only €791,666.
Cesc Fabregas, a teammate of Ben Yedder’s at Stade Louis II, is the only other non-Paris Saint Germain player in the top 20, although Cedric Bakambu and Dimitri Payet of Marseille are ranked 23rd and 29th, respectively.
Lyon has only two players in the top 100, with Tanguy Ndombele (on loan from Tottenham) and Jerome Boateng coming in at 27th and 28th, respectively. Meanwhile, Renato Sanches of Lille is the only member of the reigning champions in 30th place.
