    Paul Pogba’s brother, Mathias, alongside five others, will undergo a criminal trial on charges relating to attempting to extort money from the ex-Manchester United man 2 years ago.

    Pogba alleged in 2022 that he was effectively kidnapped on March 19, 2022, with the footballer claiming to have been taken to an apartment in Paris by five individuals close to him.

    Subsequently, he found himself being held hostage by two masked men who held him at gunpoint and requested €13m from him.

    It was later shared that Paul Pogba’s brother, Mathias, was allegedly working with the gang to extort money from the French midfielder.

    Mathias Pogba was said to have been putting pressure on the Juventus man to pay up the money due to his selfish gains.

    Meanwhile, the five people alongside Paul Pogba’s brother have all claimed innocence, with the sextuplet claiming they were also on the receiving end of armed robbers.

    They also made it known that they were assaulted after Pogba refused to pay the amount demanded by the kidnappers.

    However, protectors have called for the five individuals alongside Mathias Pogba to be tried for extortion, illegal restraint, and criminal conspiracy.

    The five people include 3 childhood friends of Paul Pogba alongside 2 former acquaintances from the town where Paul Pogba grew up in eastern Paris who were present on the night when the ugly incident occurred.

    Paul Pogba Serving Ban For Doping

    Pogba, who is still contracted to Juventus, is currently serving a four-year ban from professional football for breaching doping rules.

    Paul Pogba had filed a complaint in 2022 with Italian prosecutors informing them that he was the target of a multi-million-euro blackmail plot.

    The Frenchman told investigators that his blackmailers threatened to defame him by claiming he asked a witch doctor to cast a spell on compatriot and Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe.

    Pogba has since denied those comments and French prosecutors launched an investigation into the matter in September 2022.

    The investigation was handled jointly by the French police’s anti-gang and central crime units.

    Mathias put out the video a month after he had posted footage in French, Italian, English, and Spanish promising “great revelations” about Paul Pogba.

    During the lengthy investigation, Mathias Pogba informed the authorities handling the case that he had been afraid for his safety and that of his family.

    The 34-year-old also expressed that he had been manipulated by the other suspects, he is hoping to mend ties with his younger brother, Paul.
