Manchester United have reportedly offered Paul Pogba a new contract which could make him the highest-paid footballer in the Premier League.

In the new deal, Paul Pogba will earn a whopping £500,000-per-week at Old Trafford which could convince him not to leave the club next summer on a free transfer.

Paul Pogba’s contract with Manchester United will expire on June 30, 2022, which means that from July 1, the 28-year-old French central midfielder will be without a club.

In anticipation that Pogba could be available for free next summer, Real Madrid have been working in the background to seize the opportunity of acquiring his services for free.

To avoid that from happening, Manchester United have been doing everything possible to ensure that Paul Pogba extends his stay at Old Trafford. To prove how much they want the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner to stay at the club, Manchester United reportedly refused to sell him to another club in the ongoing January transfer window.

Amid that, a United Kingdom publication, the Sun, reported on Thursday that Manchester United have offered Pogba a £500,000-per-week deal including ad-ons to discourage him from joining Real Madrid.

The deal is reportedly worth £100 million and it is believed that the France international would not get any deal as good as that anywhere in Europe.

As it stands, it is now left to Paul Pogba to sign the new deal the club has offered him before June 30, 2022. If he fails to do so, he would exit Old Trafford as a free agent.

Aside from Real Madrid, his former club, Juventus are closely monitoring the contract tussle between the French midfielder and Manchester United.

The Frenchman has been out of football since November 2021 when he sustained a hamstring injury while on international duty with France national team. As of the time of publishing this report, it has not been confirmed when he would return to football.

Before he sustained the injury, the Frenchman had made 13 appearances in all competitions in which he provided 7 assists. The seven assists came from his 9 Premier League appearances this season.
