Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba took to his Instagram page on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, to celebrate his son, Labile Shakur’s third year birthday in style.
The 28-year-old French midfielder posted a picture of Shakur standing in a room decorated with spiderman costumes. The celebrant also dressed like a spiderman but the photographer ensured that the face of the boy was not visible to the public.
Pogba however ensured that the room where the boy posed for the birthday shot was well decorated with Spiderman themes, even the age of the celebrant (3) was not left out.
In the caption, the Manchester United and France’s midfielder who is a practicing Muslim wrote: “Al Hamdullilah. 3 and déjà. Ma sha Allah”. This could be translated as: “Thank God. Three years already. What is God?”
Though Paul Pogba always flaunts the boy on social media especially Instagram, he hardly shows the face of the boy. It is believed that the football star is trying to respect the privacy of the child until he is grown enough to choose whether he wants his face to appear on social media.
Pogba has been doing that so well that his Instagram followers have stopped complaining about the footballer’s decision to keep Shakur’s face private.
His wife, Maria Zulay, has also been cooperating with the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner by not showcasing the face of their son on social media despite the number of times she had flaunted the boy on her page.
Paul Pogba and Maria Zulay became parents of Labile Shakur on January 5, 2019. They have been raising him together at the footballer’s apartment in Manchester.
Based on viral reports, Pogba might not have the opportunity of celebrating Shakur’s 4th year birthday in the city of Manchester if Manchester United fail to extend his contract before next summer.
The footballer’s contract with Manchester United will expire on June 30, 2022, and the club has not been able to reach an agreement with the France international.
Hence, there are speculations that he might leave Manchester United on a free transfer next summer, and some of the most likely clubs the football star might head to include: Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, or Juventus.
But if the Frenchman agrees with Manchester United’s terms before the expiration of his current contract with the club, he could remain at Old Trafford beyond next summer.
Amid his contract tussle, Paul Pogba is still battling to return to full fitness. Recall that the French midfielder has not played for Manchester United since early November 2021.
He suffered a thigh injury while on November international break with France national team. At the time of publishing this report, Pogba has not started team training but has started individual training at United’s training center, Carrington.
