Recall we reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his interview this week said Ronaldo was a wrong signing, now he’s spoken about by Paul Pogba and Rashford.

The Norwegian also revealed his spell as club manager at Old Trafford fell apart, as he led United to 38 losses and 33 draws.

Speaking on his time, he also revealed that some of the club’s top stars had rejected the captain armband.

Solskjaer failed to directly name players who rejected that chance to become Manchester United captain under him.

Paul Pogba and Rashford are the stars who rejected the opportunity, according to reports from The Sun from an unnamed source.

The source revealed that: “Paul Pogba was offered a chance to become Man United captain but said he wanted to leave the club so turned it down.”

“Rashford was also asked to take the captaincy but he didn’t think he was ready for it.”

Pogba was a Manchester United player between 2016 and 2022 before he departed the club to join Juventus after his contract expired.

Marcus Rashford is still with the club, but is not the captain, as Bruno Fernandes is taking that role now.

In an interview this week, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that he was ‘very disappointed when the players turned down the chance to be captain’.

The Norwegian also hit out at players who refused to train or play in Manchester United matches in a bid to force their way out of the club.

Antonio Valencia was captain when Solskjaer took up the caretaker manager role at Old Trafford in December 2018.

He was subsequently installed as Manchester United’s permanent manager three months later after a promising start in the league.

When Valencia left, there was no one to take on the armband except for Ashley Young, he only did for six months before leaving for Inter Milan.

Despite Paul Pogba and others being in the team, Harry Maguire was named as club captain, an honor he maintained officially until this season when Fernandes took over.
