Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil has called on his teammates to get back to winning ways ahead of their tie against Southampton.

Arsenal will be traveling to the home ground of the Saints. Arsenal almost lost the reverse fixture; they drew 2-2 courtesy of Alenxadre Lacazete strikes while Unai Emery was still at the helms of affairs before getting the booth.

Since the restart of the season after the coronavirus-enforced break, both teams have had different fortunes. Arsenal had conceded five goals in their last two games and scored just one. The gunners were pummeled by Manchester City 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium before they suffered another defeat at Brighton courtesy of Neal Maupay’s late strike, losing 2-1.

Southampton on the other hand had won their last match, mauling Norwich City 3-0 at Carrow Road to make a statement of intent that they are not going to join the teams fighting for their lives in the Premier League.

Will Ozil be back on Arteta’s good side?

Ozil, who has not been playing much for Arsenal this season is expected to be the spark the team needs in creative aspect. The German is no doubt a quality player ob the pitch, but he seemed to have a lot going o in his head which is obviousely affecting his game.

Mikel Arteta on the touchline against Man City

Although his contribution against Brighton can’t be taken away, the playmaker needs to rise to the occasion again. It, however, remains unknown if he gets to be in the good book of coach Mikel Arteta who gave everyone a clean slate when he took over the team.

Ozil had disappointed the fans both on and off the pitch. But where it mattered most is on the pitch and the German has been disappointing this season. He had a fall out with Emery before getting injured. The fans look forward to him in creating nothing out of nothing for the Arsenal strikers to start banging in the goals again.
