Reports of the Slovenian personal troubles have been all over the place with numerous sources talking about his wife Tina Polovina allegedly involved in an affair while the player was away on club duty.
The Ilicic after-effect
The striker has been in top form for the Bergamasco but has been absent from the last five matches; he was also absent as his side lost to French club PSG in their quarterfinal fixture. The Italian side took the lead in Portugal through Mario Pasalic but fell to two quick goals from Marquinhos and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
The Slovenian has scored 21 goals in 34 appearances with five goals in the Champions League. Unfortunately, he hasn’t played for the club since their 2-2 draw in July, and it looks like it would take longer than expected for the striker to feature for the Italian club.

. We’re getting closer to the day [of the PSG game]. With each passing day, it is more difficult for us to have Ilicic back. It would be very difficult for him to be with us in Lisbon.”
Tina Polovina’s alleged infidelity…
Tina Polovina met Ilicic in 2009; they have two daughters Sofia and Victoria. All seems to have been fine until it was reported by Oh My Goal of the infidelity, which caused the Slovenian striker to withdraw from his team in other to sort his personal problem with reports of the striker being depressed. Furthermore, Ilicic has deactivated the comment button on all his social media accounts and Ilicic has only a handful of her pictures on his Instagram page.
Everything seems vague as no concrete evidence proves the fact that Tina cheated on her husband, but the hushed tone at which the matter has been handled has fueled speculations, with fans all around the world worried for the mental health of the striker and hope he is able to bounce back from the situation.
