Newcastle playmaker Bruno Guimaraes has been flushed with joy after welcoming a newborn two days before an epic victory over Spurs.
The former Lyon star revealed his boundless joy and happiness in welcoming a 3-day-old Matteo to the world as a father.
It was indeed big moments for the 24-year-old Brazil international as two big events marked his world in style in a span of two days.
A joyous Guimaraes could not hide his joy as he broke the news in style with an epic win over Tottenham at the London stadium following the arrival of Matteo.
Two first-half goals from Almiron and Wilson were enough to secure all three points for Eddie Howe as the Magpies held their breath to secure a narrow 2-1 win after Harry Kane’s header.
The win shot the Magpies into the last Champions League spot in the Premier League.
Guimaraes must have relished the win more than his teammates as he dedicated it to his newborn Matteo.
According to Guimaraes, he was happy to become a father and has had two days of sleepless night keeping watch of the infant Matteo.
In an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Guimaraes described how incredible it has been for him to turn a father after the love of his life and fiance Ana Linda Martins delivered beautiful Matteo.
“They’ve been amazing days for me to become a father for the first time. It’s been incredible. I’ve had two days without sleep”, he revealed.
“I would stay home, but I love being with these guys. They make me happy and proud, and I think we deserved it today.”
Guimaraes further added that it was the best day of his life, and he is proud and happy to be a father.
He thanked his family members for their support.
“It was one of the best days of my life [Matteo’s birth]. I’m delighted and proud. It’s been like a dream. I don’t have words because it’s amazing what has happened in my life”, he added.
“I say thanks to my family. It’s been difficult, but it’s all worth it.”
Teammate Galium Wilson, a goal scorer in the game against Spurs, also dedicated the win to Matteo.
Wilson declared: “It was a win for Matteo!”
Bruno Guimaraes announced the arrival of his son with a photo via his Instagram page over the weekend.
“Welcome to the world son! It is with great joy that I announce the arrival of my first son, without a doubt today is the best day of my life”, he wrote.
He penned a long and emotion tribute, thanking his “his love,” Linda Martins for being a warrior, including his family members for the support.
“First of all, I want to congratulate you, my love”, he continued. “You are a warrior you were, and you are, after everything you’ve been through in your life see you do all the strength, go over each contraction and the love you’ve already shown for our son no there’s an explanation!!
“I respect you more every day for the woman you are! Definitely the woman of my life!
“I don’t think I’ve ever had a true sense of a mother and father’s love for their child is something unique, and today I get to see that, as much as I thought that was possible, it didn’t even come close to the love I feel for my son!
“I thank my parents for everything they did for me, and now I want to be at least 10% of what they were for me for Matteo! Ana, my love, I am already sure that you will be the best mother in the world, and thank you very much for making my life’s dream of being a father come true.”
