Spanish Nigerian striker Samuel Omorodion has emerged as Napoli’s prime target to replace Victor Osimhen.
Futballnews understands Victor Osimhen is set to leave Napoli at the end of the season with PSG and Chelsea linked to the player.
Napoli are expected to cash in on the player to the tune of over £100m, having tied him down to a one-year contract extension with a sky-high release clause in excess of the £100m mark.
Osimhen will become the most expensive Nigerian and African footballer when the Partenopei finally secures a deal to sell the player at the set price tag.
Meanwhile, it is understood they are in search of a replacement for the prolific forward with another attacking sensation of Nigerian descent on the radar.
According to Sky Italia, 19-year-old Melila-born Spanish footballer Samuel Omorodion is Napoli’s targeted replacement for Victor Osimhen.
Omorodion is a Spain youth player but has his roots traced to Nigeria. He graduated from Granada Football Academy in 2022 and made 34 appearances for the Granada reserve team before nailing his first team appearance with the club in 2023.
After just one LaLiga appearance for Granada, LaLiga giants, Atletico Madrid sighted the immense talent in the young forward and signed him in 2023.
However, he has yet to break into Atletico Madrid’s experienced and star-studded side and has been loaned to Alaves where he has racked up 25 LaLiga appearances, scoring 8 goals.
As per Transfermarkt, Omorodion Is valued at a minimum of €40m but it is yet unclear whether Atletico Madrid are ready to part ways with the player.
Spanish outlets reveal Atletico Madrid purchased the player for €6m and could take home astonishing profit margins should they sell the player for his current market value.
Meanwhile, the youngster is contracted to the club until 2028 and is set to return when his current loan tenure with Alaves expires.
Apart from Napoli, Roma are also said to be interested in signing Omorodion.
