Mason Greenwood, who is on loan at Getafe from Manchester United, might soon face disciplinary board for breaking club rules.

Mason Greenwood was seen buying a meal from Burger King with his father after Getafe boss Jose Bordalas had banned players from junk food.

The Manchester United loanee could be fined in the process by the Spanish side following the incident.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan to the Spanish side from Old Trafford following his incident with his girlfriend Harriet Robson.

The player, who has one cap for England, failed to find a permanent exit from Old Trafford after he was informed that he won’t make Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Mason Greenwood has enjoyed a very warm welcome at Getafe, however, he stands the risks of being punished after going against his head coach’s rules.

Recent reports have it that Bordalas routinely checks his players weight and fines them if they are found too heavy – and Mason Greenwood might be checked soon.

The Englishman was seen at Burger King with his father Andrew after Friday’s training session in Madrid inside his Mercedes.

While the Manchester United loanee was rolled up in the car, his father was seen stepping off the car to collect two meals from the restaurant.

However, that could land the 22-year-old in serious issues with Bordalas, if one of those meals was for the England international.

Well, Futballnews cannot confirm if Mason Greenwood is exempted from that rule as the club is yet to release a statement in that regards.

We are yet to understand if Mason Greenwood will be punished by the club, as he played 78 minutes in the weekend game against Real Betis.

Since he moved to the Spanish side on loan, he has only managed to score one goal and assisted once in 6 La Liga matches.

He was initially remanded into custody on October 17 until November 21. However, on October 19, following a private hearing at Minshull Street Crown Court, he was granted bail with the requirements that he refrain from contacting witnesses, including the complainant, and that he reside at a Bowdon address.

The Crown Prosecution Service withdrew all charges against Greenwood on February 2, 2023, citing the absence of important witnesses and “new material that came to light”.

Where is Greenwood Now?

Mason Greenwood is currently on loan from Premier League side Manchester United to Spanish side Getafe.

In his 6 games at the Spanish La Liga team, he has only scored one goal and assisted once but his loan spell has not come without controversy.

It is unlikely that the Englishman will play again for Manchester United next season even though 25% stake at the club is on the verge of being sold to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
