Mason Greenwood has plotted a shock move to alter terms of his loan deal with Getafe.

Greenwood joined Getafe from Manchester United on transfer deadline day after he was declared innocent by the club following internal investigations into assault allegations by his girlfriend Harriet Robson.

United initially wanted to reintegrate him back to the squad but ditched the plan following protests by a large section of fans asking the club not to reinstate the player back to the squad.

Despite the pressure, Manchester United still wanted to have Mason Greenwood restart his career but do so away from Old Trafford.

A loan deal with Getafe made Greenwood’s resettlement plan possible but Manchester United still wanted him back at the club. A buyout clause was not attached to the deal and United accepted to foot a part of his wages as part of the agreement with Getafe.

From all indications, Mason Greenwood was expected back at Manchester United in 2024 when his loan deal expires. Now, report from The Sun says Greenwood wants to make his loan deal with the Madrid-based club permanent.

The English youngster is reportedly hopeful of continuing his career in Laliga due to the immense support by Getafe fans and the club’s hierarchy.

Greenwood has made five Laliga appearances, scoring one goal with an assist.
