Nine prolific and superb goals have been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month of April.

It was a rollercoaster month in the English topflight division with standout performances and sensational goals recorded.

Leading the list of goals nominated for the award is Marcus Rasford’s incredible thunderbolt against cross-city rivals Manchester City on March 3 at Etihad.

United had broken on a quick counter before Rashford had the ball close to City’s box and fired a thunderbolt past Stefan Ortega to give United the lead.

Rashford’s strength, precision, and effort all tell on the goal as he rippled the back of the net.

Rashford’s goal happened to be United’s only goal in the game as City fought back to complete a 3-1 comeback against the Red Devils.

Phil Foden bagged a brace in the game and his first goal – an arrowed left-footed effort into the top left corner – has been nominated for the award.

Yoan Wissa’s second goal for Brentford against Chelsea on March 2 has also been nominated for the award. After a goal-mouth scramble, Wissa scored an incredible bicycle kick to put Brentford in front before Chelsea fought back to draw 2-2.

Joan-Philippee’s backheel goal for Crystal Palace against Luton Town on March 2 has also been nominated for the award.

Also on the list is David Datro Fofana’s thunderbolt for Aston Villa against West Ham United on March 10, including Murphy’s goal for Newcastle United against Chelsea, and Dominic Solanke’s low-shot finish against Luton Town.

Rodrigo Muniz’s first-time flying finish for Fulham against West Ham completes the nine-goal cut for the award.
