Manchester United duo Marcus Rahsford and Jesse Lingard have been flaunting their friendship on social media amid the rape and assault scandal sinking the career of their teammate Mason Greenwood.
Recall that Greenwood, Marcus Rahsford, and Jesse Lingard’s teammate at Manchester United and the Three Lions of England, allegedly assaulted and raped his girlfriend, Harriet Robson.
The 20-year-old footballer who was just released on bail after spending three days in police custody could undergo trial on counts centered around rape, assault, and threats to kill.
But that seems not to be a problem to Marcus Rahsford and Jesse Lingard who decided to take themselves to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates for the winter break.
Lingard who was rumored to be on his way out of Manchester United during the January transfer window, took to his Instagram account to share pictures of the beautiful moments he had with Rashford in Dubai.
In one of the pictures, Rashford and Lingard could be seen posing on a beach with the beautiful Dubai scenery in display in the background.
In some of the slides in Lingard’s Instagram post, the 29-year-old attacking midfielder proved that work and pleasure can perfectly mix. He and Rashford were seen at a gym trying to keep fit amid the beautiful time they had in Dubai.
Apart from keeping Shape, Lingard and Rashford proved that they are very serious with their football. They created time out of their winter break to ensure that their feet got some football action.
Before Lingard shared these pictures on Instagram, Marcus Rashford had shared pictures on Instagram showing himself, his girlfriend, Lucia Loi, and Lingard spending some quality time together in Dubai.
Rashford decided to post the series of pictures to announce that he and his childhood girlfriend Lucia are back together. Recall that the two lovebirds broke up a few weeks before the European Championship which took place between June 11 and July 11, 2021.
The reason for their break up is said to be connected to the coronavirus lockdown which prevented them from seeing each other as often as usual.
Since Rashford’s loved-up pictures with Lucia surfaced on Instagram during the time Greenwood’s relationship with Robson hit the brick wall, some have been speculating that the scandal inspired the 24-year-old English footballer to confirm that all is well between him and Lucia.
To even give more weight to the speculation, the England international shared the pictures after it was reported that he is one of the Manchester United players that have unfollowed Greenwood on Instagram.
Rashford’s best friend, Jesse Lingard is also not following the embattled Greenwood on Instagram at the time of publishing this report.
Rashford who has scored 5 goals and provided an assist in 17 games in all competitions this season still has until June 30, 2023, before his contract with Manchester United expires. While Lingard who has scored 2 goals and provided an assist in 14 games so far this season has until June 30, 2022, before his contract at Old Trafford expires.
