Premier League club, Manchester United have 9.5 million shares available for sale on New York Stock Exchange. The Premier League side notified the stock exchange of the availability of the shares on Tuesday evening, October 5, 2021.
The shares that are available for sale were owned by club directors Kevin Glazer and Edward Glazer, members of the family that currently owns the largest stake in the Premier League club.
According to reports, the value of the 9.5 million shares is said to be $186.86 million and it is available for the general public especially fans of Manchester United.
The Glazer family had said the proceed from the sales of the shares would not go to the family but to the club.
This is the second time in 2021 that the members of the Glazer family had agreed to sell their shares. Recall that over four months ago, a member of the family, Avram Glazer sold his shares in the club worth £70 million.
It is believed that the sales of the club’s shares are in line with the promise that Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer made to the club’s official supporters. The American businessman who had attended the supporters’ forum twice, promised the supporters that the Glazer family would make more shares of the club available to the public.
His promise came weeks after the fans protested massively against the club’s owners for agreeing to join the failed European Super League.

Since then, the club’s owners have been doing everything possible to ensure that the club’s supporters trust in their leadership.
Despite the couple of shares that have been put on sale, the Grazers still have a majority stake in the club. The family currently controls a combined 69% of the shares in Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford is getting set to be available for Manchester United
Meanwhile, Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford would feature in a behind-closed-doors friendly later today, October 6, 2021.
The English footballer who did not join the Three Lions ahead of the October FIFA international break has not played for Manchester United since the 2021-2022 season. He was allowed to recover after undergoing shoulder surgery last summer.
The last time the pacing forward played a competitive game was in the final of the European Championship (Euro 2021). Recall that he was among the three English players that missed a spot-kick during the final which Italy won 3-2 on penalties.
Last Friday, Rashford resumed contact training for the first time this season. This means that he might be fully fit before the end of the October international break. This also means that he might be available to play against Leicester City on October 16, 2021.
