United could return for Jadon Sancho next summer

With the position of Doertmund, it’s unlikely that there is a chance of resurrecting the move any time soon.

Meanwhile, football transfer expert Gabriele Marcotti has backed the 20-year-old to get his move to Old Trafford.

“Man Utd have a price they are willing to go to and if it’s not going to be this summer they are confident they will get him next summer.

“The guy plays a different position [to Van de Beek and Thiago], he is young, he is English and he is still somebody who United really, really want,” Marcotti told ESPN.

From the look of things, Sancho will be staying in the Bundesliga for another season at least. Although Manchester United fans will hope to see him join the club as soon as possible, but waiting to push for another move next summer might also not be the worst thing for the youngster.

With the BVB, Sancho has a further chance to play more playing regularly and develop his game further. This might be a good thing for the Red Devils, who are capable of matching his release clause.

United has also shown it’s willingness to compete at the highest level with the signature of Donny Van De Beek from Ajax Amsterdam in a region of €40m (+€5m in add-ons).
