Liverpool football club will be visiting the Etihad Stadium for the first time since they were confirmed the Premier League champions on June 25, 2020, when Chelsea defeated Manchester City to end Liverpool’s long wait fo the title.

Though Liverpool have been confirmed Champions of the league, Jurgen Klopp and his boys still have a lot to play for when they face Pep Guardiola at 20:05 tonight. Liverpool would attempt to break the 100 points in a season record that Manchester City hold by winning their remaining 7 games including tonight’s match.

The Champions currently have 86 points in 31 games and they need 14 more points to break City’s 100 points-a-season record and probably surpass it. To achieve that, they need to win at least 5 games in their remaining 7 games, making tonight’s game part of those five, will not be a bad idea for Klopp.

As for Pep Guardiola who has nothing to lose whether he loses or wins tonight’s game except his pride, says he and his boys have a lot to prove to Liverpool. This means that they are ready to go all the way against the new champions of the league.

Recall that Liverpool football club defeated Manchester City 3-1 when Pep and his boys visited the Anfield Stadium earlier in the season. City would not want to suffer the same fate in the hands of Liverpool twice in one season.
