Manchester City have mocked Arsenal after they were forced to delete a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) claiming Bukayo Saka had achieved an incredible feat in the Premier League.
The Gunners initially made a post claiming that Bukayo Saka was the only player in Premier League history to score or assist against every team he had played against in the division – 25 teams cumulatively.
The post by Arsenal proved to be false, with fans informing them that Harry Kane and Erling Haaland had both also achieved that milestone.
Arsenal’s post was captioned with “Sensational Saka”, but it was soon deleted after the claim about the Englishman was proven to be incorrect.
Subsequently, the North London side corrected their errors, clarifying that Bukayo Saka was the first Arsenal player to achieve the record.
Manchester City later took a swipe at the Gunners by posting a graphic captioned “Exceptional Erling” with a detailed list of the Premier League teams he had scored or provided an assist against.
Haaland has netted against all 22 teams he has played against during his two seasons in the English top-flight division.
Meanwhile, Harry Kane found the back of the net against all 32 clubs he faced in the Premier League before exiting the division for the German Bundesliga in the summer of 2023.
Bukayo Saka In The 2023/24 Premier League Season
Saka started off the 2023/24 season on an underwhelming note but got back his groove as the season progressed.
Bukayo Saka found the back of the net 16 times during the season, while also providing 9 assists in 35 league appearances.
Saka’s remarkable display helped Arsenal challenge for the Premier League crown but they ultimately lost the title for another season running – ending the campaign one point behind the Cityzens.
The attacker is set to play a major role for England at the upcoming 2024 European Championship, with Gareth Southgate penned down as one of the favorites to clinch the continental title.
Bukayo Saka has made 226 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 58 goals and providing 53 assists in all competitions.
He developed through the ranks at the club, and he was handed his debut on November 29, 2018, by former Gunners boss Unai Emery.
Saka entered the fray in the 68th minute, replacing Aaron Ramsey, as Arsenal strolled to a 3-1 win over Ukrainian side Vorskla Poltava.
The Englishman has over the years been impressive, and he is regarded as one of the best wingers in the world.
Bukayo Saka, who was born in Ealing, England, made his debut for England on October 8, 2020, featuring in a 3-0 win for Gareth Southgate’s side over Wales.
The 22-year-old has gone on to make 32 appearances for the Three Lions, scoring 11 goals and providing 7 assists.
