Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has responded to reports United had long decided to part ways with him this summer.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio revealed in an exclusive report that Manchester United had long taken a decision on Erik ten Hag’s future before the 2023/24 Premier League season ended.

The report adds discussion has been going on internally among members of the United’s hierarchy on who should replace the Dutchman.

Going by Marzio’s report, Erik ten Hag was set to play his final game as Man United manager in the FA Cup final clash against Manchester City at Wembley on May 25.

During the FA Cup final press conference, the under-pressure gaffer was asked about the rumors of his sack and imminent departure from the club.

Responding to the query, the 54-year-old gave an awkward reply, saying he has nothing to say before adding he is focused on his job.

“I have nothing to say.

“I’m just focusing on the job I have to do and that is first win the game on Saturday and then the project, to keep going with the project.”

While Di Marzio’s report on Ten Hag’s future at United is yet to be verified, all fingers are crossed on United’s next move on the Dutchman after the FA Cup final clash.

Futballnews understands Erik ten Hag has been facing an uncertain future in United’s dugout following a disastrous 2023/24 campaign that has seen the club finish in their lowest position in the English top-flight for the first time in decades.
