Luke Shaw gave Manchester United fans a scare as he limped off the pitch during Manchester United’s 3-1 victory over Brentford on Wednesday.

The defender went straight to the tunnel in the 37th minute of the English Premier League encounter. Shaw was substituted for Tyrell Malacia by coach Erik Ten Hag.

As the Red Devils’ full-back made his departure from the ground, he was seen holding his hamstring. It was an unfortunate injury for the defender who was making his 250th appearance for Manchester United.

The Englishman penned a contract extension with Manchester United

Luke Shaw on Tuesday extended his stay at the Old Trafford club by penning a new deal.

He penned a four-year extension with Manchester United in April and this would see him stay with the club at least until 2027.

Few days later, he got injured. Hence, many Manchester United fans were quick to put out their fear for the left-back on Social media.

A fan tweeted: “Luke Shaw off and straight down the tunnel on his 250th app, hoping precautionary.”

Another wrote: “Luke Shaw please don’t get injured.”

A third commented: “Pulling his hamstring two days after signing a new deal is so painfully Luke Shaw.”

A fourth stated: “Completely forgot to put money on Luke Shaw pulling his hammy tonight in the first half after signing his new deal.”

While a fifth posted: “Hopefully Luke Shaw injury isn’t serious.”

Manchester United took the lead after Luke Shaw departed the pitch via Marcus Rashford’s well placed strike into the top corner.

And the Red Army tutored by Erik Ten Hag grinded out the 1-0 victory, their first win since February to better their top four chances.

Manchester United sit 4th on the Premier League table with 50 points same as Newcastle United but the team tutored by Eddie Howe have a better goal difference.

The Red Army lost to Liverpool in March coupled with a draw against Southampton in the Premier League before losing against Newcastle United to begin April.

However, they have seemingly bounced back after defeating Brentford at Old Trafford.

The first leg of this game was a baptism of fire for Erik Ten Hag during his second game as manager of the club in the Premier League.

Luke Shaw has been an important player in the Manchester United side as he has impressed Erik Ten Hag with his performances.

Tyrell Malacia came in as his replacement on Wednesday and the Dutchman is also effective at his duty.

He put in a solid shift after coming on and he assisted Manchester United to a victory at their home turf against Thomas Frank’s Brentford.

Ten Hag couldn’t give an update on Luke Shaw’s injury on Wednesday, April 5

Erik Ten Hag after the encounter in a post match interview stated that he was not in a position to give out any sort of update on Luke Shaw’s injury until thorough evaluations have been done on the player.

He said: “In this moment I can’t give anything about it, We have to wait 24 hours to make the right diagnosis.”

Ten Hag further said: “Then you can make the right diagnosis. So I don’t want to comment in this moment.”

United welcome Everton next in the English Premier League on Saturday and they would be hoping to make it 2 wins out of 3 in the month of April.
