Lille are set to sign mesmerizing midfielder Ludovic Blas in an attempt to shore up their midfield ahead of the new season.
Ludovic Blas, born 31 December 1997 is a French professional footballer who is one of the active midfielders for Ligue 1 club Nantes.
Ludovic Blas arrived at Rambouillet FC at the age of 7. On his arrival, he already stood out from the crowd. His trainer at the time already praised his dribbling skills and his vision of the game.
He joined Montrouge FC, enabling him the opportunity to travel around the region and get acquainted with professional team scouts.
Ludovic Blas made his first appearance in Ligue 1 in the 2016/17 season and signed his first professional contract in October 2015.
He scored his first professional goal after making his first professional start against Girondins Bordeaux on 6 December the following year. He played mainly on the right flank but also made a few appearances in midfield.
Ludovic Blas is targeted to join Lille for his technical qualities in Nantes.
The 24-year-old Ludovic, who is most recognized for his technical quality; dribbling skills, and ability to make the right decisions, quickly, joined Nantes from Guingamp at the end of the 2019 summer window, signing a five-year contract with the club.
Upon joining the club, Ludovic secured the 2022 coupe de france trophy for Nantes, as he scored the only goal to add to his fifteen goals for the club over the course of an impressive season.
His wonderful performances in the club, especially the 1-0 victory against Nice to win the coupe de France, in addition to the 3rd couple de France trophies Nantes won, makes him a target for Lille.
Lille have reportedly opened talks to sign Ludovic Blas, who Newcastle United are also interested in bringing to join their club this summer.
Lille might now be in talks to sign Blas, however, it is Newcastle who have been the side that have had the strongest links to the French midfielder, with the Magpies chasing the Ligue 1 star for some time now.
Moreover, with the push to sign James Maddison, Newcastle has decided to neglect the interest in acquiring Ludovic Blas this summer unless something drastic happens within this window.
With a reported price tag of £17m, Blas would be an expensive signing for Lille this summer.
Nantes won silverware last season and gained entrance into the Europe competition, however, the club still needs to let go of some of its players to have a balanced account, and among the players who are set to leave the club is star goalkeeper Alban Lafont who is potentially set to leave in the coming weeks.
