Liverpool’s decision on their first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been confirmed amidst reports linking the Brazilian shot-stopper to Saudi Arabia.

The 31-year-old garnered interest from Saudi clubs who were set to launch a move for the player this summer.

According to The Guardian, Saudi Pro League clubs are keen on poaching Becker the oil-rich state this summer alongside his club teammate Mohamed Salah and Brazil compatriot Casemiro.

Now, it appears they have been dealt a major blow as Liverpool are reportedly ready to continue with the legendary goalkeeper next season.

In a report shared by Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have no plans of parting ways with Becker as they consider him key to the squad.

“Understand Liverpool are planning with Alisson as part of their squad for next season despite Saudi links.

There were approaches from Saudi clubs in March but nothing advanced, concrete so far.

“Alisson and Liverpool’s priority is to continue together,” Fabrizio Romano confirms.

Alisson Becker has three years left on his contract. He had penned down a six-year contract extension with the club back in 2021.

Becker made 28 Premier League appearances for Liverpool in the just-concluded 2023-24 campaign. With Liverpool’s new manager working around for his new Liverpool setup, the Brazilian will hope to nail down his first-choice role at the club.

We reported earlier his deputy and Irish stopper Caoimhin Kelleher has pressed the button for regular game time and is ready to leave the club if he continues playing second fiddle to Becker.
