Liverpool football club will play either Chelsea or Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final after defeating Manchester City 3-2 in the semi-final stage of the competition.

It was almost looking like a whitewash for Manchester City after two errors from American goalkeeper, Zack Steffen gave coach Jurgen Klopp and his boys a 3-0 lead in the first half.

Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate scored the opener with a strong header as early as the 9th minute. The early goal gave Klopp’s team total control of the first half.

The continuous pressing of Liverpool’s attackers forced Zack Steffen to make the first blunder and Sadio Mane took advantage of it to double Liverpool’s lead in the 17th minute.

As if that was not enough, Steffen who stood in for Manchester City’s first-choice goalkeeper, Ederson, committed another blunder that led to Sadio Mane’s second goal. Within the first 45 minutes, Liverpool scored three goals to put themselves in the driver’s seat.

But Manchester City tried to turn things around in the second half by scoring as early as the 47th minute through the boots of Jack Grealish.

After that, Liverpool refused to give Manchester City any space to score more goals until in the additional one minute when Bernardo Silva made it 3-2. After Silva’s goal, there was noticeable tension around the Wembley Stadium, especially from Liverpool’s corner.

But the players on the pitch were calm and organized enough to keep the scoreline 3-2 which was enough to knock out Manchester City from this season’s FA Cup campaign.

As things stand, Liverpool are on the verge of winning quadruple titles in the 2021-2022 season.

Recall that on February 27, 2022, Liverpool beat Chelsea via penalties to win the 2021-2022 EFL Cup which happens to be the club’s first title this season.

Fortunately for Liverpool, they are still in the race to win the 2021-2022 UEFA Champions League title. They are currently in the semi-final stage and they have Spanish La Liga club, Villarreal to contend with.

They are also in the race to win the FA Cup title. All they have to do is to beat Chelsea or Crystal Palace in the final of the tournament to win the title.

Liverpool’s fourth chance of winning a quadruple this season is in the Premier League. They are currently behind Manchester City with one point. They hope that City would slip in one or two remaining league games to hand them the league title.
