Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 win against Brighton. It was Jurgen Klopp’s 300th win in his Liverpool reign as manager.

Liverpool went behind in the second minute of the game at Anfield with a stunning goal from Danny Welbeck. 

Luis Diaz found a response to halt Brighton’s early momentum. It was a beautiful goal from the Colombian, who had been impressive for Liverpool.

MacAllister created a chance for Mohamed Salah in the 65th to score Liverpool’s last goal of the game.

Brighton drew the first blood against Liverpool in the second minute of the game, with Danny Welbeck scoring a stunner at Anfield.

Liverpool had their first attempt in the ninth minute of the game, with Mohamed Salah’s attempt going wide.

Liverpool had another chance on goal, but Mohamed Salah was not clinical enough to put the ball into the back of the net.

In the 22nd minute of the game, Luis Diaz came out of nowhere to score the equalizer for Liverpool, with the Brighton players demanding an offside.

Ivorian winger Simon Adingra created a chance for Danny Welbeck, but his attempt hit the side net in the 33rd minute of the game. 

Luis Diaz had been Liverpool’s best player on the left wing and was too quick for the Brighton defender with his attempt hitting the side net.

The Jurgen Klopp side kept the ball close to themselves and created a chance for Darwin Nunez, but the Uruguayan striker failed to score in the 37th minute of the match.

Liverpool thought they had a penalty in the 58th minute of the match when Salah was brought down in the 18-yard box, but the referee waved play on.

In the 65th minute of the game, Liverpool went ahead, with Mohamed Salah scoring an excellent goal. Former Brighton midfielder, MacAllister who had been impressive in the match against his former team created the chance for the Egyptian king.

Liverpool scored yet another goal in the 71st minute of the game, but it was ruled out by the referee for offside.

A few minutes after Liverpool scored their second goal of the game, Mohamed Salah was provided another scoring opportunity, but the Egyptian played the ball straight to the Brighton goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen.

In the 90th minute of the match, Salah had another chance on goal, but his attempt was saved by the Brighton goalkeeper, Bart Verbruggen.

Brighton kept pushing for a goal, with Welbeck getting another chance in the 94th minute of the game, but he was not able to convert the chance.

What Next for Liverpool and Brighton?

The Jurgen Klopp side will play against Sheffield United on April 4, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. Liverpool are expected to defeat relegation-battling Sheffield United in their quest to win the Premier League.

Brighton, on the other hand, will play against Brentford on April 3, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. If Brighton want to play European football next season, they need to defeat Brentford in the Premier League.
