    Lionel Messi will not be leaving Inter Miami on loan when the Major League Soccer season concludes, Guillem Balague confirms.

    Lionel Messi, 36, who currently captains the MLS side, has been previously linked to a return to Barcelona and also a switch to Saudi Arabia.

    Inter Miami have been knocked out of the play-off match after Saturday’s 1-0 loss to FC Cincinnati and their season ends on 21 October.

    FIFA 2022 World Cup winner managed to play only 72 minutes in the MLS since early September due to an injury he sustained.

    Argentina would play World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil on 17 and 22 November after the MLS regular season closes.

    However, Argentine captain Lionel Messi, will reportedly take a month’s holiday after the season comes to an end.

    Speaking on if Lionel Messi will go on loan, Spanish football expert Balague said: “Messi will have around one month holiday, like other footballers. So forget any move to Saudi or similar.”

    The Barcelona legend will then return for the pre-season in Miami with the MLS new season starting in February.
