Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Real Madrid’s Anthony Rudiger lead the defense options.
Barcelona’s IIkay Gundogan, Brighton’s Pascal Gross, Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos, Bayern Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, and Bayern Munich duo Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala lead the midfield options
Top names lined up for selection in the attack are Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich, Kai Havertz of Arsenal, and Niklas Fullkrug of Borussia Dortmund.
Goretzka and Mats Hummel react to being left out of the squad
Two big names – Mats Hummels and Leon Goretzka – have gone missing from Nagelsmann’s preliminary squad.
Leon Goretzka, who has won 57 caps with the Die Mannschaft since making his debut in 2014 has been left out.
Borussia Dortmund sensation and 2014 World Cup winner Mats Hummel has also been left out.
The pair are reportedly unhappy about being left out of the squad.
In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Julian Nagelsmann reached out for a truce with the pair after leaving them out of the squad.
“I had a long talk with both Hummels and Goretzka. They’re very disappointed as they’re out of the list”.
“I tried to explain why they weren’t included. Understandably, they are sad,” Nagelsmann said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano
Julian Nagelsmann is still expected to trim down the squad with about two or three players set to be axed.
